September 2019 Update: Dorian has dealt a hard blow to Abaco and its residents. The 2020 edition of The Cruising Guide to Abaco was nearly complete and was going to be sent to the printer soon when Dorian moved over Abaco. At this time we do not yet know when we will reasonably be able to print the next edition. We are working toward the recovery in Abaco and will revise and complete a new edition as soon as it can be reasonably updated and completed. We will update when we know more. Thank you, -White Sound Press
By Steve Dodge, assisted by Marjorie, Jon, & Jeff Dodge.
This 30th edition of the only annually updated cruising guide to Abaco includes two new charts this year and updates for 17 of the navigational charts and marina maps in the book. The accurate easy-to-read color charts are based on original hydrographic research and 45 years of local knowledge, and they are the only charts which show locations of submerged power lines and “do not anchor zones” in the central part of Abaco. The book also includes recent color aerial photographs of all principal harbours and a proven system of GPS waypoints. Its organization makes it easy to use—it is the clear choice of most cruisers and the best selling guide to Abaco. Includes tide tables for 2019, detailed snorkeling/diving charts, up-dated business directories for Abaco, articles on fishing, a lunar calendar for 2019, a guide to the dolphins and whales of Abaco, a brief history of Abaco, and helpful local advertising. 8½” x 11” 208 pp.
